Description:
The dealer show took place in a TV studio. At first, people were gathered in a hall, separated from the studio by a net curtain, so that the stage couldn’t be seen. The show started with wild percussion and the sudden illumination of the stage. The net curtain was raised, so that the people could take a seat around the catwalk and the stage, surrounded by 4 towers (4 and 6 m high) on which the percussionists were installed. To imitate the design of Schiessers’ catalogue, the stage and the towers were made from scaffolding, packed with transparent plastic film and wrapped with ropes all around. Blue and red spotlights inside the structure created the finishing touch. The presentation started with a shadow-show striptease within the towers covered with tracing paper. Once in underwear, the models ripped down the paper and stepped on stage in a whirlpool of propeller wind and brilliant backlighting. The music was wild. In order to pump some dynamism into the fashion show, we didn’t work with models but with a group of dancers that performed several acts with the different items from the Uncover collection. We had some surprising features, like a break-dancer spinning on his head like a top and the master of ceremony coming up on roller skates but we also respected some traditional musts, like the bridal couple. Due to the product we had to present, the bride’s robe had a large split in the back, revealing her white straps while the groom wore a tuxedo jacket without pants, showing his white boxer shorts. They were both wearing pink wigs.
